In response to a request from the Indian Embassy in Tashkent, the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided details about studying medicine at Uzbek universities. Uzbekistan fulfils n Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations of 2021.

• In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the duration of the educational field of General Medicine is 6 years.
• Indian students are fully enrolled in 6-year “Therapeutic Work” program. The 6-year MBBS program meets all the requirements established by the National Medical Commission of India (duration of training, medium of instruction and 12-month period allotted for practice).
• After completing MBBS studies in, the graduate will have the right to practice medicine in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan subject to the licensing exam requirements.
• Medical insurance is of critical importance in Uzbekistan. Indian students should go for a medical cover immediately on arrival and students must Insist for a proper receipt for insurance premium from the university.
